Lapis x Labyrinth Limited Edition XL for Nintendo Switch - Action RPG Dungeon Crawler Game for Family & Party Gaming

Man, I had a blast with Lapis. It's a side scrolling dungeon crawler with an adorable aesthetic and some mechanics unique to the genre. Being a dungeon crawler , you create a team of characters from a cast of 8 classes and head into a labyrinth to do battle with the denizens, claim loot and destroy bosses.The loot is explosive. Once you fill a "fever meter" (by obtaining treasure chests, gold, gems etc and slaying monsters) you become invincible and every thing (even certain blocks that make up the dungeon's interior) you bash explodes in a vibrant, mass effusion of color. Gems, gold and chests burst forth and then implode into your character for short period. It's a real slice. In later levels, triggering this in a tactical fashion is necessary to survive some of the deadlier mobs that inhabit the game's 90 plus quests.Loot ranges from armor to class specific weapons, artifacts and snacks. All with a varied array of stats and bonuses similar to something you'd see in Diablo. As you delve deeper, the town above, which you return to after navigating a few labyrinths and defeating a boss, expands. Eventually you can order bonus-giving lunches, upgrade your gear, add bonuses to your attributes, hire more adventurers, trade materials and enhance other important things like your resistances and the amount you can carry into the dungeons. It's a great loop and the game spans a bit under twenty hours, adding another 15 or so in post-game content.I really enjoyed this game and the physical goodies that come with this Special Edition are totally rad. The poster is high quality, the artbook is nearly comprehensive and includes amusing flavor text, the art prints are beautiful and the soundtrack contains all of the music in the game.The gripes I have are small, being that some of the upgrades have dubious value when compared to others and the game can get slightly grindy.If you dig dungeon delvers and chibi art, I couldn't recommend this title enough.
